LinksBrittani is doing some great images and her site is worth a visit. Great organization bringing art into the schools. A few years ago she organized a collaboration between North Delta students and Sonny Assu, a rising young artist who is creating powerful art pieces. The art that was created by them is hanging in the lobby of Art Starts on Richards in Vancouver. Faith has a beautiful control of the media. Well worth a visit. Lana has set up her own gallery called Coffee Gallery at the Tate in Surrey. She is representing a number of artists now, myself included. Have a look! Paintings and drawings. Sonny, a former grad from North Delta, Kwantlen College and Emily Carr, has been setting the art world on notice with his art. His first nations heritage has provided him with a rich influence and resource, but then he takes issues that have effected that ancestry, and presents them in unique ways that question consumerism and branding. His sense of humor and his skill have produced very strong work. Stephen is a very talented graphic designer who was also a former student. I'm proud to have taught him and to see where he is these days. Stephen was a former student who has graduated from Emily Carr and SFU and now lives in Berlin. His work is shown locally at Marshall Clarke Gallery in Vancouver, but he shows in Germany and other parts of Europe. Exciting to see where he's at these days. Terry is a friend who has set up a great business where he designs cartoons of farm animals and distributes them on t-shirt s, cards, sindicated comics, ice cream containers etc. He's doing creative work so have a look. |
